Miller Homes supports ANTA to help young people succeed
An alternative education model for students in Telford and Wrekin has been handed a boost by a new homes developer.
ANTA Education offers a personalised approach to teaching and provides real-world opportunities for young people who have become disengaged or disillusioned from traditional teaching methods with the aim of achieving qualifications and a route towards future career progression.
The organisation, which formed in 2019, has been backed by housebuilder Miller Homes with a £1,000 donation which will help provide fully funded access to training and employment support for residents across the area in financial hardship.
Essential costs will be covered thanks to Miller Homes’ contribution including for revision resources, test fees, digital learning materials and 1:1 coaching.
Craig Howard, managing director at ANTA Education, said: “Many of the young people we support have struggled to engage in mainstream education and are at risk of leaving school without the qualifications, confidence or direction they need to succeed.
“Thanks to this support from Miller Homes, we will be able to provide more young people with access to recognised qualifications, personalised learning and meaningful progression opportunities.
“We see first-hand how the right support at the right time can transform a young person’s future, and we are delighted that Miller Homes has chosen to invest in helping local young people realise their potential.”
Miller Homes’ donation to ANTA Education came via the housebuilder’s Community Fund initiative which supports groups in areas where the developer is building new homes.
The Worcester-based West Midlands region, currently building new homes in Shropshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Staffordshire and Gloucestershire, has an annual pot of £10,000 to contribute towards community projects and groups.
Carl Cooke, sales director for Miller Homes West Midlands, said: “Miller Homes’ Community Fund project was created to meet the needs of groups across our region who require our support to grow and prosper, which is exactly why ANTA Education reached out to us and we were able to provide this £1,000 contribution to aid their services in Telford and Wrekin.
“Education is one of the four pillars of the Community Fund, alongside wellbeing, the environment and sport, as key focuses for us. We hope the money received by ANTA Education will help them to grow and continue to deliver their excellent work across our region.”
