Inspiring Women and Girls to Explore Their Potential

At ANTA Community Training CIC, we believe that talent, curiosity and innovation should never be limited by gender. Through our Women in STEM initiative, we are committed to encouraging, supporting and signposting women and girls towards opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

Thanks to the generous support of Shropshire Community Foundation and The Dodd Group, we are able to create opportunities that raise awareness of STEM careers, connect people with training and employment pathways, and help build confidence for the next generation of women entering technical and professional industries.

Why STEM?

Women continue to be underrepresented across many STEM sectors, despite the wide range of rewarding careers available. We want to help address this imbalance by providing information, guidance and inspiration to those who may not have previously considered a STEM pathway.

Our goal is to ensure that women and girls across Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin can access the knowledge, support and opportunities they need to make informed decisions about their future.

How We Help

Through this initiative, we:

  • Promote awareness of STEM careers and opportunities.

  • Signpost individuals to education, training and apprenticeship pathways.

  • Connect participants with employers, training providers and industry partners.

  • Share success stories and role models from across STEM industries.

  • Encourage confidence, aspiration and progression into technical careers.

  • Support individuals who may face barriers to accessing information, guidance or opportunities.

Building on Local Industry Strengths

Shropshire has a rich heritage of engineering, manufacturing and technical innovation. As an organisation with strong links to the automotive and engineering sectors, we recognise the significant opportunities these industries offer, particularly as they evolve through new technologies, sustainability and innovation.

While our Women in STEM programme promotes opportunities across the whole STEM landscape, we are particularly passionate about helping women and young people discover pathways into sectors where local employment opportunities are strong and future demand continues to grow.

Inspiring the Next Generation

We believe it is never too early to inspire future scientists, engineers, technicians, programmers and innovators. By showcasing real opportunities and challenging stereotypes, we aim to help more young women recognise STEM as a viable and exciting option for their future.

Whether you are considering your first career choice, looking to retrain, or seeking advice on progression opportunities, we are here to help signpost the next steps.

Supported By

This project is proudly funded by Shropshire Community Foundation and The Dodd Group, whose investment is helping us create greater awareness of STEM opportunities and support more women and girls to pursue rewarding futures in these vital sectors.

Together, we are helping to build a more inclusive and diverse STEM workforce for the future.
