Nothing can stop him now!!

Meet Manny, now a very positive and happy participant from our Telford & Wrekin UKSPF project.

One of his messages to us today was "Imagine, before I didn't even have the confidence to take a selfie"

When Manny first came to us in early 2025, he was facing numerous personal challenges, struggling with housing and dealing with anxiety. His confidence had taken a huge knock, and he felt stuck in a situation that was out of his control.

Michelle, Malcolm and the ANTA team supported Manny, offering regular one to one support meetings, identifying barriers that we could help him overcome and in turn boost his confidence. Sharing various employability tips and advice, we introduced Manny to a National Employer who saw the best in him, as did we.

Whilst waiting for a start date from the employer Manny expressed an interest in achieving a CPCS dumper ticket to aide his career options within construction. With Manny so engaged and enthusiastic to move into work, ANTA were more than happy to source and fund his dumper training.   Manny kept in touch with the employer and agreed if he ever wanted to work with them, he would be more than welcome to call. However, following his additional training he decided to take the route as a Sole Trader and learn the groundworks trade! He has been working for the past few weeks regularly as a dumper driver and groundworker learning on the job. He's also registered under the construction industry scheme, as self-employed and is very happy to share that he's "earning much more than he ever thought he would be!!!"

Manny is currently working in Stourport on Severn on a £50 million project making a bypass across the river Tern where he is very pleased to be gaining lots of experience 😃😃😁

We love keeping in touch with our learners to see how their journey has progressed and how we've been able to play a small part in helping them change their lives for the better.  

Manny's confidence now is infectious and we can't wait to see how far he can go!
