Building Futures for college leavers

Meet Max, Clayton and Tyler.

After completing their Level 2 Construction and Property Maintenance courses at college they felt left in limbo as they were unsure of the next steps towards gaining employment.

To work in the construction industry they’d need a CSCS card to meet employer’s requirements and to demonstrate they have the correct level of Health and Safety knowledge. None of them knew how to go about getting their card and what the process was, as well as being able to afford the associated costs.

As a #UKSPF Delivery Partner for Telford & Wrekin Council, we were able to guide them all through the process and fund their Level 1 Health & Safety in Construction qualification, their CITB exam and the cost of the CSCS card.

They came in to our centre today to pick up their cards and attend one of our job searching sessions to explore what jobs were available locally, and look at options like work experience and apprenticeships too.

Tyler says “ANTA helped keep me motivated as the support is always there. It was a quick process to get my card and they’re still supporting me now to find work. I’m really grateful.”

Of his time with ANTA, Max said “it’s a really friendly environment to come and learn in, you get to meet other people and you can interact with others in a similar situation.”

We’ll continue to support these learners into employment, so if you have any labouring, bricklaying or property maintenance opportunities then please get in touch!
