Our learner Lucy recently passed her CITB exam and gained her green CSCS labourers card ready to begin her career in construction. In all the time we’ve been running CSCS card courses, Lucy is only our second female participant.
Here at ANTA Education we want to help change the view of what is typically a male dominated profession and show women the advantages and benefits of joining the sector.
We caught up with Lucy to find out what attracted her to the construction industry.
“I really enjoy working outdoors and the physical challenges that come with it. Where I’m currently working my role already involves a lot of ground maintenance and hands on jobs. This is what initially got me interested in construction.
“Completing the CSCS card course has given me an opportunity to enter the construction industry. To any women out there who love to work outdoors and fancy a challenge, I’d say go for it! Let’s show the world what we’re capable of.”
