Success Story: From Disengaged to Determined — Liam’s Journey

When Liam joined ANTA Education, he was 15 years old and had been permanently excluded from his mainstream school. He struggled with anxiety, low self-esteem, and had fallen behind academically. Traditional classroom settings overwhelmed him, and he felt like he had no future.

Through our #NobodyLeftBehind programme, Liam was given a personalised learning plan tailored to his strengths and interests. He began with short-term goals—building confidence, improving attendance, and engaging in practical learning. With one-to-one support and a flexible schedule, Liam completed the Highfield Level 2 Award in Customer Service and the Level 1 Award in Health & Safety within a Construction Environment.

But the real transformation came when Liam discovered a passion for carpentry during one of our hands-on workshops. We connected him with a local community centre offering vocational training, and he began working towards an apprenticeship.

By the end of the academic year, Liam had:

  • Achieved three accredited qualifications

  • Re-engaged with full-time learning

  • Secured a placement with a local construction firm

  • Gained the confidence to speak at a school event about his journey
    His mother shared:

“ANTA didn’t just help Liam with education—they gave him hope. For the first time in years, he believes in himself.”
